On the 25th of June 2003 Parliament announced the appointment of Mr Mpetjane Lekgoro as the new chairperson of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Communications.

Mr Mpetjane Kgoagelo Lekgoro has served as an ANC MP since 1994 representing the Atteridgeville constituency. He has also served as a whip since 1995. Before becoming a member of Parliament Mr. Lekgoro served on the National Executive Committee of the ANC Youth League. He was also a member of the UDF PWV (now Gauteng) Executive Committee. The NAB wishes to congratulate Mr Lekgoro on his appointment to this important position.
