Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation Conference

On 30 January to 31 January 2008, the Department of Communications hosted a 3rd annual Digital Broadcasting Switchover Forum Conference, which was organised by the CTO. The conference was preceded by a special focus day, under the theme The Future of Broadcasting, and ended with a special focus day, focusing on the Generation of Local Content. The conference’s focus was on all the crucial topics and issues that affect stakeholders in the African broadcasting sector.

Amongst other renowned speakers was the  NAB Executive Director, who gave a presentation on the broadcaster’s perspective on the progress of the transition to digital transmission: with dual illumination approaching in November 2008
