Community Sound Broadcasters complete 5 years of converged licences

Five years have lapsed since ICASA converged broadcasting licences in 2008. Community sound broadcasters are due to renew their converged five year broadcasting and spectrum licenses this year. Licensees have to submit their renewal applications  to ICASA no later than 6 (six) months prior to the expiry of your existing licence. The application form must be accompanied by the station’s board resolution authorising the person signing the application to do so. The application fee for renewal is  R1000.00 (one thousand rand). The relevant form for the renewal is form F contained in the ICASA Licensing Processes and Procedures Registrations, Amendment, Renewal, Transfer and Surrender of class licences Regulations, 2008 and form B contained in the  ICASA radio spectrum Regulations 2011.
