NAB Submission supported by Parliament

During recent deliberations by the Portfolio Committee on Communications (PCC) on amendments to the Electronic Communications Act, the NAB proposal that the community broadcasters be exempted from contributing annually to the Universal Service and Access Fund was adopted by the PCC. The NAB is encouraged to note that Section 89 of the EC Act will now be re-drafted to reflect this exemption.
