NAB to host roundtable discussion on World Radio Day

The National Association of Broadcasters will host a roundtable discussion to celebrate World Radio Day on 13 February 2023. We are delighted to have East Coast Radio Managing Director, Boni Mchunu, join us as our guest speaker.

Radio plays a vital role in sharing information, entertaining listeners, shaping public opinion and, ultimately, contributing to peaceful relations in our country.

The medium remains relevant and powerful in an evolving media landscape, with the Infinite Dial South Africa report released last year showing that:

- 69% of participants surveyed in South Africa’s major metros confirmed that they had listened to the radio in the previous week;

- 90% of participants had between one and three radio sets in their households; and

- 64% had listened to radio content on non-radio or digital devices.

During this discussion we will look at global trends in radio and how these will shape its future.
