SADIBA to address Minister’s Digital Broadcasting Advisory Body
The NAB is a founder member of SADIBA and various broadcasters have been active in its task groups. The presentation will cover SADIBA’s recommendations on Digital Terrestrial Television, Digital Audio Broadcasting and the Association’s interim position on various policy and regulatory matters.
The Digital Broadcasting Advisory Body advises the Minister on digital broadcasting policy and is expected to make recommendations on a policy and regulatory framework for digital broadcasting. In addition it is expected that the advisory body will recommend the adoption of standards and specifications for transmission and reception equipment and devices for Digital Terrestrial Television and Digital Audio Broadcasting. The body is presently conducting research on market conditions in South Africa and developments in digital technologies in a number of countries around the world.
