Transformation Of The Advertising And Marketing Industries Will Be Carefully Monitored

At this meeting between representatives from Government Communications (GCIS), the Departments of Communications (DoC) and Trade and Industry (DTI) and representatives from the marketing and advertising industry the following was decided:


- That all stakeholders, including the broadcasting industry should sign the Value Statement that was produces at the Parliamentary discussions. The signing will take place at an official ceremony shortly. Industry bodies would then cascade the commitments contained in the Value Statement down to their members.



- That a steering committee, representing industry bodies and government, would be constituted to oversee the panning for a mid-year plenary session.



- That a monitoring committee, representing industry bodies and government departments, would be set up to gather all new information about progress with transformation before the mid-year plenary session.



The NAB continues to be committed to this process and will be involved in both the steering committee and monitoring committee to assist in the transformation of the advertising and marketing industries. The NAB believes that as an industry body, that represents an industry that is well on its way to transformation, it can make substantial contributions to this process.
