NAB Submission on the DTI's Liquor Policy Review

The Department of Trade and Industry published a Draft Liquor Policy Review. The purpose of the Policy Review is to among others set out proposals for the amendment of the Liquor Act, 59 of 2003, which seeks to empower the Minister to determine restrictions on the advertising and marketing of liquor products.

NAB Submission on the reallocation of frequency band 3600MHz to 3800MHz

In preparation for the WRC'15 the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services (the DTPS) called for further written inputs regarding agenda 1.1 of the WRC'15, addressing in particular, the frequency band 3600MHz to 3800MHz (the C-Band).

NAB Submission to the DTPS on the National Integrated ICT Policy discussion paper

On the 14 November, the Departmetn of Telecommunications and Postal Services, "the DTPS", published the National Integrated ICT Policy Discussion Paper for public comment. The closing date for public comment is 30 Janurary 2015.

The NAB's Submission on ICASA's Code for Persons with Disabilities Regulations

On 14 November 2014 the Authoirty published the Draft Codes for Persons with Disabilites. The closing date for public comment is 15 December 2014.

NAB submission on Local Content: Television and Radio

On 4 July 2014, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (“ICASA”) published for public comment, a Discussion Document on the Review on South African Local Content: Television and Radio (“the Discussion Document”). The Discussion Document was open for public comment, and the closing date was 10 October 2014

NAB submission on the IMT Roadmap

IMT Roadmap On 27 August 2014, The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (“ICASA”) published in government gazette 37948, two General Notices: General Notice 729 of 2014, General Notice 730 of 2014, inviting interested parties to submit written representations on the draft International Mobile Telecommunications (“IMT”) Roadmap (“the IMT Roadmap”). The closing date for written representations was 7 October 2014

NAB submission on the Regulations and Draft Guidelines relating to the labelling and advertising of foods

On 29 May 2014 the Department of Public Health published gazette No. 37695 which proposed a limitation of advertising for “unhealthy” foods targeting children. In addition, the Department published Draft guidelines to the regulations relating to the labelling and advertising of foods for compliance purpose (R429 of 29 May 2014). Interested persons were invited to submit any substantiated comments or representations on the proposed regulations to the Director General of Health. The NAB made its written submission on 28 August 2014, the closing date.

NAB Submission: Code for People with Disabilities Regulations

On 28 March 2014, the Independent Communication Authority of South Africa (“ICASA”) published, in Notice Number 254 of 2014, Government Gazette Number 37486, a notice of its intention to prescribe a Code for People with Disabilities Regulations (“the Draft Regulations”). The closing date for public comment is 16 May 2014.

NAB submission on the National Integrated ICT Policy Green Paper

On 24 January 2014, the Department of Communications (“the DoC”) published in General Notice No 44, Government Gazette 37261, its National Integrated ICT Policy Green Paper (“the Green paper”) for general information and comment from interested persons.
